“Mike’s Prayer” is a deeply personal and spiritual invocation that I crafted over the course of a year. It reflects my journey of introspection, healing, and integration of spiritual practices. This prayer blends Indigenous wisdom, modern affirmations, gratitude practices, and deeply personal connections, including symbolic archetypes and spiritual inspirations. Listening to the prayer in my own voice throughout the day has become a grounding ritual, amplifying its impact as a tool for physical healing, emotional resilience, and spiritual empowerment.
The prayer offers a structured approach to releasing negativity, cultivating gratitude, and affirming divine connection. While deeply personal, its themes of resilience, protection, and transformation resonate universally with anyone seeking clarity, healing, and empowerment.
Mike’s Prayer
I am going to use these moments to review what I intend to manifest into my life.
Any intrusive spirit, any intrusive energy, any energetic pollution, anything that doesn’t belong here, any earthbound spirit needs to go. Any witchcraft, any sorcery, anything with an evil eye, evil tongue, or evil inclination needs to go. Any shade, any demon, any hungry ghost, any demonic force, anything that is not of the light, anything from the lower realms needs to go. To disease in the body: If you insist on living in my body, I wish to live in harmony, peace, and total health with you; otherwise, I invite you to take up residence elsewhere. Those who harm me harm themselves; those who bless me bless themselves. I send you love.
Grandfather Fire, grandfathers, grandmothers of the east, ancestors, thank you for my life. Grandfather Puma, Grandmother Jaguar, thank you for opening this gate, teaching me to walk with and honor fire. Thank you for clearing the people and situations that didn’t serve my highest good, even if I didn’t understand it. Thank you for the life energy within my body that allows me to be strong, pain-free, focused, determined, and vibrant. Thank you for illuminating the shadows and anger, so that I can continue to heal on all levels.
Grandmother Water, grandmothers, grandfathers of the west, my ancestors, thank you for the gift of clarity. Grandfather Eagle, Grandfather Condor, thank you for guiding me through this door, for helping me to see what’s truly important and teaching me to use all of my senses. Thank you for the water within me and the clean water I access daily, which quenches my thirst and cleanses my body. Thank you for empowering me to contribute to our collective clarity and access and for showing me the importance of clean water for all beings to enjoy.
Reflecting on my life’s mystical journey, I thank you for your nurturing and protection. As I move towards the completion of my healing, thank you for the presence of my guides, ancestors, and real loved ones who surround me and ensure that I never feel alone again. Thank you for allowing me to extend this healing to others, sharing the resilience and clarity you have bestowed upon me. Thank you for the spirit of Shawn Michaels, whose story inspires me to rise every time I fall, as if he is running alongside me, fighting with me, and shielding me from harm.
For the most troubling disturbances:
Dear God, I find it so extremely difficult to give mercy in this situation and I am turning it over to you completely. I know that you will guide me in acting in the most merciful and humane way. I know that I am pure spirit, that I always have been, and that I always will be. I come from greatness, I attract greatness, I am greatness.
I am the governing presence, governing in perfect divine order, commanding harmony, happiness, and the presence of God’s opulence in my mind, my home, and my world. I am the resurrection and the life in thought and feeling. I am the Mighty, Magic Circle of Protection about me that is invincible and repels from me every discordant thought and element which seeks to find entrance or intrude itself. I am the Perfection of my world and it is self-sustained. I am a guardian of the world, and I am fit to be a teacher of the world.
I am God in action.
I am the Conquering Presence.
I am perfect health.
I am perfect energy.
I am love.
I am a genius.
I am wealthy beyond words.
I am peace.
I am joyful.
I am forgiveness.
I am writing.
I am my own ambassador of yeet.
I am God.
Psychological and Spiritual Themes
Prayer has long been recognized as a powerful tool for both physical and spiritual healing. Gratitude, a central theme of the prayer, has been shown to improve not only emotional well-being but also physical health. Emmons and McCullough (2003) demonstrated that gratitude reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, and strengthens the immune system, supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
The verse addressing disease reflects the Taoist principle of harmony, which Wayne Dyer explored in Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life. He explained that fighting against an issue often leads to more resistance, while collaborating with it or inviting peace creates balance and resolution. The line “If you insist on living in my body, I wish to live in harmony, peace, and total health with you” exemplifies this approach, inviting healing through acceptance rather than conflict.
The clearing of intrusive spirits reflects shamanic traditions, where such practices are central to maintaining spiritual balance. Winkelman (2010) explains that shamanic rituals for removing negative energies or entities help individuals reclaim their personal power, reduce anxiety, and foster psychological integration. This aligns with the prayer’s emphasis on releasing unwanted energies and establishing harmony.
Wayne Dyer emphasized the transformative power of “I AM” statements, describing them as declarations that align us with divine energy. In The Power of Intention, Dyer explained that these affirmations are transformative tools, capable of manifesting health, love, and abundance by fostering a sense of oneness with God’s energy (Dyer, 2004). The prayer’s affirmations, such as “I am perfect health. I am God,” reflect this alignment, empowering resilience and fostering a sense of inner strength.
The verse on forgiveness reflects Dyer’s insights in Wisdom of the Ages (1998). He believed that when forgiveness feels impossible, surrendering the burden to divine guidance allows clarity and healing to emerge. By asking God to “take the issue,” we relinquish control over the situation, creating space for compassion and spiritual transformation.
The Power of Personality and Enthusiasm
Including phrases like “I am my own ambassador of yeet” infuses the prayer with my personality and enthusiasm. For me, “yeet” symbolizes unshakable confidence and wholehearted affirmation—a joyful exclamation of energy and alignment. This playful touch underscores the importance of making your prayer or affirmation truly yours. By weaving in personal words, emotions, and humor, you create a prayer that resonates deeply with your unique spirit and purpose.
Shawn Michaels represents the archetype of the hero who overcomes immense challenges, a symbol of faith, redemption, and transformation. Shawn’s journey is deeply meaningful to me because he overcame an “unhealable” back injury by finding faith, making amends to those he hurt, and completely transforming as a human being. After a four-year layoff during the prime of his career, he returned not only healed but better than ever. His story is a powerful reminder of resilience, redemption, and the miracles of transformation. His journey reminds us that even the most challenging circumstances can lead to growth, healing, and miracles.
Conclusion
“Mike’s Prayer” is a transformative spiritual practice that bridges personal experience with universal truths. By integrating gratitude, affirmations, Indigenous wisdom, shamanic traditions, and personal heroes, it offers a pathway for healing, empowerment, and connection to the divine. It highlights the profound impact of prayer on physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Whether used as a personal meditative tool or as inspiration for crafting one’s own prayer, it highlights the transformative power of integrating personal and spiritual growth into everyday life.
